How do real estate agents use AI?
The uses that save hours this week
Follow-up in your voice. Give it three emails you actually sent and it will draft the next nine in the same tone, so touch seven does not sound like touch one.
First read of anything long: a 40-message inquiry thread, a lease, a seller's financials, a listing packet. Ask for the three things that matter and the one thing that looks off, then read those parts yourself.
Lead triage. Forty inquiries from a weekend of open houses, sorted into call today, nurture, and not a buyer, with a one-line reason each. You still make the calls; you just make the right ones first.
Listing and marketing copy as a first draft. Then you fix the three sentences that are not you.
The uses that get agents in trouble
Anything that goes to a client without a human reading it last. Anything that touches price, valuation, or a legal document. Anything that pretends to be you in a live conversation. The rule in my practice is two words: AI drafts, I decide.
What agents expect and don't get
Most agents arrive hoping AI will generate leads. It does not conjure people who want to sell. What it does, well, is make sure the people you already reached hear from you again, and again, in a way that sounds like you. In practice, "AI for lead generation" is follow-up on the leads you have, twelve touches deep. That is where the listings come from.
The missing-system problem
Many agents spend revenue-generating hours trying to figure out AI and end up with a stack of tools where nothing quite talks to each other. That is not a tech problem; it is a missing system. A site that gets the right people to raise a hand, one morning screen that says who to call and why, and follow-up that runs whether you remembered or not. AI is useful inside that system. It is noise outside it.
Start with the count
Before any tool, know your daily count: the commission you want by July 1, walked back to closings, appointments, conversations this week, and people to reach today. The free tracker does that in two minutes at brokeropsai.com/day. Planning math, not a promise.
Type the commission you want by July 1 and what you take home on one closing. Get today's count, then a text every morning for 30 days. Free. A guide, not a guarantee.
