Welcome back to Day Thirteen of 30 Days to a Smarter Growth System.
Yesterday, we worked on asking better questions.
Today, we're going to fix one of the weakest habits in follow-up:
"Just checking in."
Think about how that sounds from the prospect's side.
"Just checking in."
"Following up."
"Wanted to see where things stand."
None of those messages give the other person much of a reason to respond.
So today, I want you to replace generic follow-up with something more useful.
Use this simple structure:
Context. Value. Easy next step.
Context means you remind them why you're reaching out.
Value means you give them something worth opening the message for.
And the easy next step means you make it simple to respond.
For example:
"Last time we talked, you mentioned you were thinking about a sale sometime next year. I came across a market update that reminded me of your situation. Want me to send it over?"
Or:
"You mentioned timing was the biggest unknown. I have one question that may help clarify that. Open to a quick call this week?"
That feels different.
It feels relevant.
It feels personal.
And it moves the conversation forward.
So here's your assignment.
Take three follow-up messages you were going to send today and rewrite them using:
Context. Value. Easy next step.
Then send them.
On LinkedIn, follow up with someone who recently engaged with you.
On Facebook, respond to someone who commented or asked a question.
In email, re-engage at least five warm contacts with something useful.
And in your direct outreach, make sure every follow-up has a reason behind it.
AI can help you draft these messages.
But give it the real context.
Who is this person?
What did they say?
What do they care about?
What is the next logical move?
That is how you get better output.
